Who this flag is made for
This is the club and training flag: the coat of arms is cut and sewn on by hand instead of printed. The sewn version keeps its colours and its crisp edges far longer than a print, which makes it the usual choice for clubs that use their flag every week. It costs about a third of a competition flag in pure Swiss silk.
Material and finishing
Acetate artificial silk is our proven flag-swinging fabric: robust, easy to care for and dimensionally stable. The coat of arms is applied by hand in our own workshop in Neudorf LU:
- conical hollow hem, matched exactly to the swinging pole
- reinforced at top and bottom
- lower corners additionally reinforced on the right and left
- two tabs for attachment

Printed or sewn: which should I choose?
A printed flag is the cheaper entry and the right choice for beginners and for anyone who needs several flags at once. A sewn flag looks noticeably more valuable, keeps its contrast and survives many more seasons. For competition itself, pure Swiss silk remains the reference.
Is this flag approved for competition?
Yes. The Technical Regulations for Flag Swinging of the Swiss Federal Yodelling Association permit Swiss and cantonal flags with official heraldry in pure silk or in artificial silk. The prescribed size is 120 cm square; we produce in the established trade size of 121 x 121 cm. The current version of the regulations always applies. For competition itself we nevertheless recommend the version in pure Swiss silk with a sewn-in coat of arms: it runs more smoothly and lasts a lifetime.
Matching pole and case
The regulations make no stipulation about the pole. A length of around 150 cm is considered ideal, exactly the size of our standard pole.

Care and repair
Acetate is considerably less sensitive than silk, but it too dislikes prolonged damp. Let the flag dry after use and store it in its case, never folded under pressure for long periods. We repair damaged hems, corners and tabs in our own workshop: send us the flag or bring it to Neudorf.
Delivery and collection
Sewn flags are made in our own workshop. Stock items usually leave our premises within 1 to 3 working days; made-to-order items take longer and we confirm the date with the order. Shipping from CHF 15.00, free from an order value of CHF 1000.00. Collection at our flag shop in Neudorf LU is possible, Monday to Friday 8 to 12 and 13.30 to 17.
