Sewing atelier & repair service

Sewing atelier of the Swiss flag manufactory

In our sewing atelier, experienced seamstresses craft high-quality flags to your wishes – and carefully restore old treasures. Sewn, appliquéd, embroidered or heat-cut, square, rectangular or round: we make everything that can be made of fabric.

We repair and wash frayed or damaged flags so you can enjoy them longer. Tip: take your flag down in storms above 75 km/h, hail or sleet – this significantly extends its life.

For one-off events: rent flags instead of buying.

Frequently asked questions about service and repairs

Which services does Fahnag offer around flagpoles?

Planning of flag displays with on-site advice on location, flagpoles and sizes; professional installation including foundations and accessories; maintenance, repair and conversion of existing flagpoles (wear parts, cleaning, modernisation); flag service with changing, washing and repairing flags; spare parts mostly from stock.

Does Fahnag also repair old or damaged flags?

Yes. Our sewing workshop repairs and washes frayed or damaged flags and carefully restores old treasures – sewn, appliquéd, embroidered or hot-cut, square, rectangular or round.

When should I take the flag down?

Take the flag down in storms from 75 km/h, hail or sleet – this considerably extends its life. Have frayed edges re-stitched early, before the damage spreads into the cloth.

Does Fahnag make flags to measure?

Yes. Our sewing workshop in Neudorf produces club flags, municipal flags based on the coat of arms and advertising flags to your wishes – sewn, appliquéd, embroidered or hot-cut. Schwinger flags and appliquéd flags are hand-sewn; printed flags are finished in Neudorf.

Does the service team come on site?

Yes. On-site advice is part of the planning. With its own aerial work platform the team maintains and repairs flagpoles quickly and safely – throughout Central Switzerland and beyond; the Switzerland-wide flagpole service is at mastservice.ch.

Are spare parts available for older flagpoles?

Yes. Halyards, snap hooks, weights, rope pulleys, cleats, caps and swivel heads are mostly available from stock – from Switzerland’s largest accessories stock. The decisive factor is the flagpole’s tube diameter (Ø 60, 80, 100 or 101 mm).
